Towards Self-Organizing Distributed Computing Frameworks: The H2O Approach
نویسندگان
چکیده
A novel component-based, service-oriented framework for distributed metacomputing is described. Adopting a provider-centric view of resource sharing, this framework emphasizes lightweight software infrastructures that maintain minimal state, and interface to current and emerging distributed computing standards. In this model, resource owners host a software backplane onto which owners, clients, or third-party resellers may load components or componentsuites that deliver value added services without compromising owner security or control. Standardsbased descriptions of services facilitate publication and discovery via established schemes. The architecture of the container framework, design of components, security and access control schemes, and preliminary experiences are described in this paper.

Toward the design of self-organizing dynamics
A growing demand for distributed and decentralized software, together with an increasing inherent complexity of these systems challenges traditional software engineering practices. Recently, the utilization of self–organizing processes has been proposed as a way to relieve development efforts. While Agent–Oriented Software Engineering (AOSE) provides suitable abstractions and implementation fra...
متن کاملImplementations of asynchronous self-organizing maps on OpenMP and MPI parallel computers
In [1], we presented an asynchronous parallel algorithm for self-organizing maps based on a recently defined energy function which leads to a self-organizing map. We generalized the existing stochastic gradient approach to an asynchronous parallel stochastic gradient method for generating a topological map on a distributed computer system (MIMD). We theoretically proved that our algorithm was c...
متن کاملSelf-Organization of Open Complex Distributed Systems
Self-organization has been investigated for long in a very broad range of areas. However, only till recently has self-managing and self-organizing computing received intensive attention. The purpose of this paper is to discuss some of important basic problems of selfmanaging and self-organizing computing, including the essence of self-managing computing, generic architecture of computing, real ...
متن کاملSpatial Computing: The TOTA Approach
Spatial abstractions promise to be basic necessary ingredients for a novel “spatial computing” approach to distributed systems development and management, suitable to tackle the complexity of modern distributed computing scenarios and promoting self-organization and self-adaptation. In this paper, we analyze the key concepts underlying spatial computing and show how they can be organized around...
متن کاملTowards Autonomic Computing: Injecting Self-Organizing and Self-Healing Properties into Java Programs
Autonomic computing is a grand challenge in computing. It aims to produce distributed software that has the properties of self-healing, selforganizing, self-protecting and self-optimizing. This paper focuses on the challenge of injecting only self-healing properties into existing programs that targets the Java Virtual Machine. The byte code is analyzed and additional code is injected to automat...
